Honoring Educator Spirit, Cultivating New Generation Leaders: School Holds 2025 Teacher's Day Celebration and New Semester Planning Meeting

On September 11, the School of Economics and Management held the 2025 Teacher's Day Celebration and New Semester Planning Meeting in the Jinglin Lecture Hall to honor retired and long-serving faculty members, summarize past achievements, and outline plans for the new academic year. School leaders, faculty, staff, and retired faculty representatives attended the event, which was hosted by Deputy Party Secretary Li Hao.

The ceremony began by recognizing nine retiring faculty members, including Professor Wang Bin, and twelve faculty members, such as Professor Cheng Dening, who have completed thirty years of teaching. Party Secretary Wang Liping presented awards to retiring faculty representatives, while Dean Nie Jun honored the long-serving teachers.

A special induction ceremony was held for new faculty members, who were introduced by Deputy Party Secretary Li Hao. The new colleagues wore the school badge and introduced themselves, symbolizing the continuation of the school’s legacy.

Professor Li Xuesong, Director of the Economics Department and recipient of Wuhan University’s 2025 Model Teacher Award, spoke on behalf of the faculty. He emphasized that the spirit of educators is reflected not only in daily teaching practices but also in the commitment to integrating knowledge with action. He encouraged teachers to stay true to their mission of nurturing talent for the nation and strive to become educators loved by students, trusted by parents, and recognized by society.

Dean Nie Jun summarized the school’s progress in party building, talent cultivation, and faculty development while outlining key tasks for the new semester. He highlighted efforts to advance discipline construction, strengthen faculty teams, and promote organized research, aiming to build a comprehensive and multi-level platform system. In her concluding remarks, Party Secretary Wang Liping thanked all faculty for their dedication and congratulated the awardees.
