As autumn graces Luojia Mountain, the Master of International Business (MIB) program at Wuhan University launched the new academic year with an innovative initiative. In the afternoon of September 11th, 2025, the campus turned into a mobile classroom for a lesson about "Bird's-Eye View of the Future: A Journey of Sustainable Development at Luojia Mountain". The university campus turned into a learning space for students to engage with the history and rich cultural heritage of Wuhan University. Moon Lake, Maple Garden, the Administration Building, the Humanities Hall, the Cherry Blossom Avenue, the Wanlin Art Museum, and so on, significant campus landmarks fostered a sense of belonging to the University from both Chinese and International students in MIB program.

At Moon Lake, participants combined nature observation with cultural appreciation while documenting ecological information; At Maple Garden, they learned to identify local tree and bird species, connecting ecological knowledge with the natural environment on campus; In front of the Administration Building and Humanities Hall, MIB students witnessed the University's history; Passing by the Library and the Art Museum of the University, MIB students immersed themselves in the unique academic and cultural atmosphere of Wuhan University.

Hands-on observation, methodical documentation, and reflective discourse developed a more profound comprehension of sustainable development among MIB students. To examine wetland and forest ecosystems on campus, to collect avian behaviors as primary ecological data, and to evaluate environmental policies effectiveness across countries, MIB students translated the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into concrete actions. Bridging international business and life science, the interdisciplinary experiences reinforced the sense of social responsibility and the awareness of business sustainability, which are essential attributes for future international business professionals.

An Exchange Classroom for Global Competence

The mobile classroom also breaks down barriers between Chinese and international students. Observing the nature together, MIB students from diverse cultural backgrounds shared rich perspectives on various environmental topics, and compared environmental protection practices in each other’s home countries. The cross-cultural communication and genuine international friendships have become critical assets in the learning experiences in MIB program at Wuhan University.
