On October 9, the "Luojia Youdao + AI" Frontier Forum was successfully held at the school. Jointly organized by the Wuhan University School of Economics and Management and the Wuhan University School of Artificial Intelligence, the forum brought together faculty and students from both schools under the theme of "Interdisciplinary Integration, Digital Intelligence Empowerment, and Youth-Led Research" to discuss cutting-edge AI technologies and cross-disciplinary applications. The event was academically guided by the Wuhan University Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Mr. Cheng Zhen, Deputy Director of the Research Platform Development Office at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, delivered the opening address. Against the backdrop of transformative development in humanities and social sciences research, he emphasized the office’s commitment to promoting collaboration between humanities and science/engineering disciplines, breaking down academic barriers, and fostering cross-field dialogue through funding interdisciplinary research activities. He also highlighted the importance of deepening platform cooperation for resource sharing and complementary advantages, ultimately aiming to jointly establish higher-level research platforms. He stressed that the transformation of humanities research not only meets its internal development needs but also creates greater value for scientific research, expressing hope that the forum would mark a promising start for humanities-science integration.
Professor Nie Jun, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, noted in his speech that AI is profoundly reshaping research methodologies in economics and management, business models, and even global economic development paradigms. He pointed out that future economists, corporate managers, and financial professionals must understand AI’s impact on research methods, organizational decision-making, and intelligent risk control to lead industry development. Dean Nie expressed his hope for a "two-way collaboration" between scholars in economics and management and AI experts to address real-world problems through technological breakthroughs and deepen cooperation in talent cultivation and interdisciplinary research.
The forum featured two parallel sessions, addressing the dual perspectives of "AI Technology Frontiers" and "Applications in Economics and Management."
This forum is the fifth installment of the "Luojia Youdao Frontiers in Economics and Management Series" and the first event of the 2025 "Academic Service Month" organized by the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences. It aims to promote deep integration between humanities and science disciplines in the AI era and inspire innovation among young scholars. Experts engaged in vibrant exchanges on technological breakthroughs, practical applications, and interdisciplinary cooperation, actively exploring pathways for transforming research paradigms. Both schools will use this forum as a foundation to refine collaboration mechanisms and continue advancing AI-enabled disciplinary development and high-quality socio-economic progress.
